If you pay the 12 cents for to thick of a package (1/8 inch is it? ) (as I do with chips under an ounce wrapped with cardboard) what machine does it go through or what process?
If hand stamped theres not a scanner it goes through?
If over an ounce it goes to the .60 rate so this rule above does not apply but still its thick & can jam the machine.
I usually put my own stamps on but have them cancel at the window.
Of the 1,000's of packages I have mailed only 1 or 2 that were uninsured have been lost & I refunded the buyers money. I have had insurance pay off but years ago. Are they are more strict with chips? I know some have told me I can't insure them as its money so I show my business card & explain my crazy hobby that they are old chips. Luckily here in Santa Barbara we have the same people all the time & they all know us now. In Vegas its someone being trained all the time & I have had nightmares dealing with them.
