The Palms Playboy Release Was..

..a challenge, to say the least.
Thanks to Chris Colangelo of Tiny Treasures and a few drafted Palms Team members, the release went smooth and most did not realize the problems.

The chips arrived from France 66 hours before the release date. 46 hours pre release the cage informed me the $50 chip did not fit in the jewel case Chris had made for us. The cases were made for 40MM chips and the chips were 44MM. A call to Chris found him in route to the gaming show. He did not offer much hope as the cases were made on the east coast (we just lost 3 precious hours), but said he would try. BTW, the mistake was not Chris's fault.

Two hours later we had word the company would put something together for us and UPS it red tag. One hour pre release, I called Chris and his wife said Chris had left for UPS office to try and pick the package up. 9:10 Chris pulled into the Palms. I hijacked the slot manager, a slot girl, the credit manager, and two cage cashiers. We started switching out the 1,000 jewel case inserts. 9:50AM with 10 minutes to spare, the job was finished and the release was on time.

The new insert could not be done quite as good as the 1st one but it was a heck of a lot better than our 1st ever chip release delay or the alternative of 100 chippers standing around our cage trying to cram a 44MM chip into a 40MM hole. grin
Thanks Chris for going the extra mile and a special thanks to Palms Team members that had to put the cases together, twice in 48 hours. grin
