THE TROPICS RENO NEVADA

We also collect old pyro-fired Casino Drink Glasses. If someone is interested in maybe doing a site for the drink glasses, we would be more than happy to help.

In May of 1944 The Tropics opened it's doors on the site of what was formerly The Dog House. It featured a South Seas theme complete with Palm trees, Grass Shacks, and Hula Girls. They featured Chinese food, Tropical Drinks, Hula Dancing, and even Travelogue Movies of the South Pacific.

When it first opened it was owned by Phil Curti and Al Hoffman. Hoffman became terminally ill shortly after and sold his share to George Perry.

In January 1947 Curti and Perry announced that the Tropics would be closed on February 4 and become a bowling alley.

I believe there is a parking garage on this location today.

I NEED A PICTURE OF THIS PLACE. I do have an inside one, but need an exterior one.
