Re: ANDY-I HOPE I'M WRONG BUT
In Response To: ANDY-I HOPE I'M WRONG BUT ()

Fred, I have the same feeling. And for Moneymaker's sake, I also hope I'm wrong.

My big problem, however, is the reflection he has on so many other middle class family men earning an average living and losing, like Moneymaker, $15,000 in a year gambling with money he needs to support his family.

How many others are trying to follow in his footsteps, fooling themselves into believing they can do the same thing.

Moneymaker's win was an anomaly--just like someone hitting the jackpot on the slots, lottery or in their local poker room. Now don't get me wrong. I am not trying to take away any praise given to him for his skill as he certainly has to have some to win that tournament. I just hope for his sake, that he listens to his wife and quits now while he's ahead. But betting dollars to donuts, he won't.

At least he had enough sense to get his CPA certification so that he has something stable to rely on when the gambling god's turn their favors to someone else--like they do to most people.
