To All,
It is with much regret I inform you, the membership, of the passing of Jim Gritis. Jim was a member of our fine organization as well as a member of the Southern Nevada Chapter.

Jim and I go way back. We both worked for the IRS. Me in field audit Gritis (as we all called him) in collection. It was really by accidient that I found out he collected chips. It was a few years back when I ran into him at Bill Akeman's store in China Town, Las Vegas.

Gritis died because of an accident body surfing in the Pacific ocean off the coast of California. He was on vacation enjoying himself. A wave picked him up and broke his neck paralyzing him from the head down. He died a few days later.

I will miss him not only because I knew him for so many years but because he loved this hobby as much as I did. I am sorry I do not have a picture of him. However, I am sure you may have seen him at the chip shows and the convention. Rest in Peace my friend!!
