"I know of 7 sets of $1, $5, $25"

It was 14 sets found in April of 1998. A friend that was the casino manager at the CRH brought them to me. I middled off 13 (kept 1) of them to a dealer. Several days after the sale, my friend found one more set and gave it to me for helping him sell the others. That made a total of 15 sets found. He gave me his word he had no more. I informed the dealer that bought the 13, that one more set existed. The dealer sold a few then sold the balance to Jerry Wall. Jerry came to me to confirm the amount found before he bought them.
My friend did not have the $100's.

Here is the story he told. There were problems at the CRH and they were losing money. There had also been some scams by employees going on. He was brought in, in the last days to try and save it. There was no $100's in the cage, when he got there. He was told the $100's had been destroyed. BUT he could find no paper work to prove it.

He did the paper work to destroy the remaining $1, $5, and $25 after they closed. BUT, he said he personally did not watch the destruction.

The normal chip destruction today is Casino Controller, Cage Manager, and security watch a destruction. Not sure how they did it in those days.

I do know that Bud Jones had the only machine that would destroy CIC's for a long time. It punched out the CIC before the crushing. I have been to several CIC destructions.

Today there are mobile chip destruction vans you can call to come to the property.
The Palms just had one come and destroy a large amount of tokens and high denomination chips.

Things are not always what they appear. A few years ago the Regent had a mobile van out to destroy high denominations. A conveyer belt fed them into a truck crusher. An employee was in the truck and removed some before they dropped into the crusher. He was arrested a few days later trying to cash some $5,000's in. Procedures have been tightened since that incident. grin
