I found this chip at a local coin show this afternoon. For some reason the gold hot-stamp, although almost perfect, didn't scan well. It's Ladbroke / 25p / Sporting Club. TGT lists this casino as London, England (closed). Can anyone give me some more information? I'm wondering about an approx. date the chip was used. Also wondering the value of 25p in US Dollars. The lower case p does stand for pence, right? This chip appeals to me for some reason I can't explain. I have another from the Sportsmen's Club, same mold. Maybe it's the term sporting club. Sounds so civilized.
