Re: Are These Questionable eBay Auctions??

This is from another James Bond ad of mine:
" DESCRIPTION: No reserve; only $1.00 postage..........I am the only one on eBay selling all 8 different James Bond poker chips............. When the movie came out in 1989, the $1000 denomination chip did not exist. Since then the $1000 chip appeared, and different shapes of inlays were added. Now is your chance to get all 8 types at one time. See the pictures below. While most of these are still being produced by the manufacturer and sold at its retail store to the public at about $1.00 each, I was told by the manufacturer that the cog-shaped inlay $100 was sold out, and that in the future only chips with round inlays would be made. .

These clay composition 1-1/2" chips are virtually identical to real casino chips in every way -- size, weight, feel, composition, square edges, edge security color spots, famous hat and cane rim mold design, etc. But they are just current poker chips, made to be collected or used in home games . They never saw the inside of a casino. Yet they are beautiful, colorful, crisp, casino-quality chips.

Now, back to the 8 James Bond-"Casino de Isthmus City" chips. The casino name and place are fictitious. Chips of this design were supposedly made for and maybe used in the James Bond 1989 movie, "License to Kill," starring Timothy Dalton. However, "Casino de Isthmus City" and "Isthmus City" are prominently mentioned in the film, so the chips do have some official capacity. The manufacturer never clearly explained the connection of the chips to the movie: maybe they were ordered for the film but not used in the film, etc.? These are just like all the other James Bond chips being sold elsewhere, sometimes for $10 and more each!. The manufacturer made these chips (with some minor changes, as explained above) from 1989 to today."
