... Jim, though I beg to quibble with you on point #4.

For individual members to informally refer to the club, as some of us have been doing, as an "international" organization of chip collectors is neither "assinine" (an unbecoming and disrespectful term which is unworthy in the context of the otherwise excellent points made in your post) nor likely to be "dangerous to our tax exempt status".

Though I am not an expert on tax exempt organizations, I have been practicing law long enough to recognize that official use of the term "international" by the club might have some impact on our tax exempt status. On the other hand, I can think of no logical or legal reason to believe that the unofficial reference to the club as an "international" organization, in informal communications among members, would have any bearing on that status.

If you (or anyone else) can point me to a specific legal basis upon which to conclude that such informal references are dangerous to our tax status, I'd be happy to review it and will recant if I am mistaken. Absent such a showing, however, I see no problem with individual members calling this an "international" organization.
