The regular chip is an unusual chip for Las Vegas for sure, but the bird matches exactly the one out in front of the strip property. Something to keep in mind is that 1948 had a lot of midwest gamblers stepping off the train in downtown Las Vegas after various shakeouts in KY, MO, etc. Didn't the Nasons show up about that time Gene? Perhaps one of these guys ordered up some LV chips using the illegal conventions he was used to, ie, no location or name. One-of-a-kind smkey stylings throw this chip into attribution limbo too.
