SILVER SLIPPER RENO

This card is dated 1931 on the back. They were at 1410 East 4th Street in Reno. A Speakeasy prior to legal gaming. Then licensed for Roulette, craps, 21 and slots. In June of 1936 they began having pig races and they were very popular.

Closed in 1936 and reopened as The Black Derby in April 1937, went belly up a few months after opening. Then once again reopened as the Silver Slipper and then closed for good in the Fall of 1941. Opened one last time on December 10, 1941, as The Sphynx.

The end came in January of 1943 when The Sphynx burnt to the ground. Now just a parking lot.
