Re: CHIPS FROM VARIOUS STATES

Good Question, and as far as I know... NO Book

I'd love to see a book on Indian Casinos (Tribal, Native American, take your pick)

I'm sure someone else will ring in with the same, but with few exceptions, Indian casino chips are pretty much common. The first issues are the hardest to find. Some casinos seem to have "destroyed" their old chips by selling them in bulk or taking them home for home play sets.

If you wish to write to me about Wisconsin chips, I'll be happy to give individual answers on each chip.

The tricky ones are things like letters and a number on the back. (block letters or script?) the older and more collectible.

Or the more common Indian with a pipe under a pine - no casino name - Sands/Rainbow/Ho Chunk/Golden Nickel chips which may have been used in three different casinos. $1, $5 and $25 pretty common, $2.50 less common.

BRC = Bad River Casino
OG = Oneida Green Bay
1st American Games = Oneida Green Bay
LDF = Lac du Flambeau
SCC = St. Croix Casino
RCC = Red Cliff Casino
RCB = Red Cliff
Jenna 777 = Winnebago, now Ho Chunk

Rainbow sold off their old H&C chips from the cage, drilled. I have read that Sands sold off the Peace Pipe/Pine chips. Jenna chips from the 50c to the $100 pop up all over, so someone has been dribbling them out. Rainbow $5 Chipco seems available, while the $1 is uncommon, followed by the $2.50 which I only see up for auction a couple of times a year. RCC $1 and $5 common, 50c hard to find, $25 available from someone at the casino (ask Greg and others who bought them blind, as in unknown seller)

Minor design changes at some casinos such as changing wording, color of denominations, or complete color of chips. There are some that came out in RHC and standard H&C molds, same chip designs.

Hope that helps for starters on Wisconsin. It's a real party! lol
