Re: Convention Trade Session Questions

Jason, I was one of the monitors in last year's convention. I was asked by the person in charge of the trading session (I believe it was Dave Moore) not to allow any currency to change hands.

The reason for this as was stated previousely--is that the dealers who purchased tables thought that they were somehow going to miss out on some cash sales. For the first time this year, I also will be maintaining a table at the convention, but personally care less about the minor cash transactions that might be going on during the trade session.

It has been my experience that most of any cash transactions involved during the trade sessions were usually for low valued chips--either junk box type of stuff or LE's. I don't know what the policy will be this year, but I expect it will be the same. Again, as was stated previously, adherence to this policy is very easy to abide by--just my going out of the room to make any payment or go up to your room and make a deal.

The trade sessions is probably the highlight of the convention for many (it certainly was for me, at least.) Just bring your chips (in whatever form you like) but preferably in binders so that you don't "hog" the table as you will be sharing any table you get with others. There is just so much room at least for the Wednesday night session, that I guarantee you won't just be standing around.

I don't know when you are arriving in Las Vegas, but I believe Leonidas is planning a pre-trade session on Tuesday either in my room or somewhere else but it is absolutely necessary to you come to that one first if possible. You see, I love your foreign chips but just too cheap to pay the postage. grin Hopefully, I can take some of those chips off your hand so you won't need so much space.
