Dumb Question...I always thought I new all there was to know about roulette. WRONG!

Here is a simple rule...I have heard variations of this term before, but cannot reconcile this in my mind.

I emailed the BC on the strip, as I will be staying there in September. In their response to my questions about their gaming tables, they explained that they do not have a single zero wheel. They also stated that there is a minimum
outside bet of $3, and a maximum bet of (And here is the term I cannot quite picture ) $25 maximum anyway you can get to a number.

Now is that saying simply that straight up on #5 I can only place no higher than a $25 bet? Can I slpit #2 and #5 with say $50? or $100?

If $25 is the maximum straight up on any one number, why don't they just say that instead of "Anyway you can get to a number"?

Geeeeeez...I feel so dumb!
