A two card dealt 21 has been called a snapper by casino people as far back as I can remember, late 50's.

Yes, I probably transfered the "Snapper" name to a $2.50 chip in 1995 with the Sammy Snapper series of chips. Not on purpose, it was a logical transfer and made the chips very popular.
