These Mother-of-Pearl pieces surfaced in Cuba in July of 1995. I was told they were remnants of a private set (3 shapes; 4 colors each) made for José Miguel Gomez (JMG monogram; reverse/Cuba'a coat of arms; obverse), president of Cuba from 1909 to 1913. The pieces are very thick... approx. 5mm.
