I have these three silver tokens from the Desert Inn. They came in airtites & black velvet cases.

Does anyone know how they were distributed? Were they a gift shop item? A slot machine jackpot bonus? Maybe given out to high rollers? any Idea?

Top front, DI grand opening April 24,1950
Top back, Race & sports book May 3, 1998
would the May 3, 1998 date be when the sports book opened?

Was the Tournament of Champions a golf tournament? I wonder why a slot machine on the front of the token.
