Re: To anyone who wants to remember good times....

I remember the "milkman" delivering milk in glass bottles and how (if my mom wasn't looking) we girls would try to get the first big swig off the top straight from the bottle (BIG no-no in my house vbg )

and that once a month, on Sunday, my mom would give us kids each 50c, for candy and a movie. The movie cost .25c and full sized candy bars were 5c each. But on SUNDAY's, candy was 6 for quarter. grin

My sisters and I walked to the store and movie theater - in blissful ignorance. We never checked to see "what was playing" before we went... I didn't know that there was anything besides G-ratings.

This was a time before fear and perverts and kidnappers and child molesters and drive by shootings and "hit-n-runs" or gangs.

Today - I don't even let my son walk to school. I drive him almost everywhere sad
... but sometimes, I catch him sneaking a drink straight out of the milk carton... most the time, I don't yell. I quietly back away without comment, thinking, "You would have loved the taste of fresh milk delivered in heavy, frosted bottles." grin
