Among my favorites are Harvey Fuller's "Index of Nevada Gambling Establishments", TCR, Campiglia/Well's "Official U.S. Casino Chip Price Guide", and ALL of Doug Saito's "Chip Chat" and the soon to be published, Jay Sands' "ebay auction of chips". As for the original question, I most definitely want the best looking and highest condition chip possible. Of course, sometimes you don't have a choice, you get what you get and keep looking to upgrade.
