When Verizon came to hook up an additional phone line { for the computer } I was talking to him about different phone stuff. He explained to me that if you have a listed phone number anyone could get just about any type info they wanted on you....sometimes more info than they could get with your social security number. Think about it, you apply for a loan { phone number }...you apply for a credit card { phone number }...you file your taxes { phone number }...you file for a credit report { phone number }...etc. He said all the person needs to know is where to go on the internet and they could get that info. My wife and I have had an unlisted phone number from day one.
