I see that the short memo I wrote regarding the sale of my Canadian collection upset some people--especially some of our Canadian citizens. Let me assure you it is not personal--at least as far as any individual collector is concerned.

I think Kerry Waite stated my view quite accurately when he said "that if our president and/or congress bad-mouthed your country, I hope you would become defensive, too." This goes double to those American protesters--the ones reaping all the benefits while the brave fight their battles.

I am an American and proud of it. I served my country (albeit during peacetime) and so did my wife as she enlisted in the Navy in 1943 until the duration of the war. Of all her life's achievements, she attributes her wartime service as the proudest of all.
