Re: WWII GERMAN CHIP???
In Response To: WWII GERMAN CHIP??? ()

A few years ago, I purchased a rack of those for $500 (which was WAY TOO MUCH) and sell or trade a 3 color set (red-white & blue) @ $20.

Because of the sensitivity on the Board - and out of respect for people I actually like vbg ,
I rarely post them anymore unless they are in a group of other chips - and try not to put them out - front and center - out of courtesy to those who find them offensive.

This is not to say I won't post them or sell them in the future... I just try to present them more subtly.

The shame is they were manufactured decades before Hitler decided to taint a simple Indian "good luck" sign - into a symbol that would be associated with anger and disgust throughout history. sad
I am sure the designer at USPC in OHIO NEVER imagined his poor chips would wind up in landfills across the world - simply because history would dictate a different path for this particular symbol.

I guess it boils down the same thing with most chips - their value is determined by whatever someone is willing to pay for them.
