While at this past years convention, my friend bought a chip to give to me for Christmas. Well, seems she misplaced it. I said no problem, it'll turn up one day. She said yeah, but i've got to find it because it wasn't cheap. About a month went by and still no sign of the chip. She offered me $50.00 and said, why don't you find a nice "black" (she knows I like "black" chips) chip you want for your Christmas present. I refused the cash and said, let's wait a while longer. Guess what?...About two weeks ago she found it and brought it by for me. I looked at the chip....I looked at her, I really didn't want to hurt her feelings, but had to ask, did you really pay $50.00 for this ?

The short part of this story is:
She bought it at the 2002 convention.
She bought it on the bourse floor.(Can't recall exactly which table.)
She bought it from a dealer. (Doesn't remember the dealers name.)

My problem is: My friend has been collecting for about 7 months and doesn't know much about fake, fantasy and non-genuine casino chips yet and had no idea what kind of price should have been placed on this chip, but felt sure I would like and enjoy it. And I do. I didn't have one. But a dealer at our convention should know this and represent it as such. Do you think a dealer would NOT know this is an imitation???

VERY disappointed with at least one of our dealers.
