Riviera $1 TCR # N2061 (purple, C&J, 4-yellow inserts) is listed in both "The Chip Rack" and "The Official U.S. Casino Chip Price Guide" as being a Las Vegas chip. I'm wondering what verification for this there is.

To the best I can tell, if it's Vegas, it must be the only chip the Las Vegas strip Riviera ever produced without the words "Las Vegas" either on the inlay or on the mold. As James Campiglia points out, the font in the word "Riviera" of this chip very closely resembles the very distinctive font of the other Riviera chips. On the other hand, all other (to my knowledge) known Las Vegas Riviera chips use a "$1" notation, not "$1.00," such as the N2061 chip uses.

Good points on both sides. The best input might be first hand anecdotal reports from years ago such as "I brought these home from Vegas..."

A friend of mine gave me a nearly complete set of Riviera Vegas $1 chips a few years ago, and this chip (N2061) was not among them.
