Janice; Just an little bit of an explanation to the example I used might be in order to help you Westerners. grin

Since Park Place purchased the Claridge Hotel & Casino ... all of the former Claridge rack chips have been switched over to Bally's Park Place rack chips as mandated by Gaming. I doubt if the Claridge chips will be coming back.

Players are not allowed to place bets with the now "obsolete" Claridge chips ... as the edge inserts do not match up with the Park Place chips. However, the cage will still redeem them.... as every other chip ever issued in A.C. is still redeemable.

One size does not fit all in this discussion of what is "obsolete" or "retired" or "OOS".
