Where the Mandalay bay now srands ,there was a casino called The Hacienda. The Hacienda had timeshare condos. You could buy a week a year for twenty years. Members were enrolled in The Gold Key Club. Gold Key gave you special privleges such as discounts in all shops & restaurants. No entrance lines to shows & restaurants. Free well drinks at bars etc. One time we took 2 friends with us. The Hacienda had a promotion that
cost $20. You got $100 play in a slot machine & kept all winnings. Plus you got a free show ticket & a chance to win a free dinner buffet. All four of us won more than the $20 & free buffets. After dinner we went to the show. It was called Holiday on Ice, I think, and the showgirls were topless. Avoiding a line with the Gold Key card we were seated center stage up front. We could reach out & touch the ice. Silence was in the audience when the curtain was raised & all these beautiful topless girls were in line across the stage.One of my friends said ,in his best Irish brogue," Lordy,Lordy, I think I died & went to heaven." Laughter took over for the silence.
