Re: Is there an ashtray value guide?

While I agree about the values, the Anderson guide is well worth the price. It includes more than just ashtrays, with history, casino information and pictures...

For the same reasons that TCR updates yearly, any guide on ashtrays (or pretty much anything else that has a changing market) is out of date, the day it's issued.

I make jokes about finding ashtrays for 39c at resale shops. Let me confess, I've never found one that is better than common and ordinary. The guide is a tool for judging relative values, not absolute.

I would like to buy the Heller guide, for my collection of books on collecting. Anyone know where to get it?

I would recommend the Anderson guide, to anyone interested in collecting casino collectibles of any sort. Look at it as a collectors guide, not a price guide. With all the extra information, much of it contribute by Janice O'Neal it's a very good read.
