Just today I turned on the Computer and A message came up " Unable to initialize the virus scanning engine database files" with an [ok} down in the lower left corner----computer locked up.
Powered down, came up in safe mode and did a restore back to a couple days ago. Tried to do a full scan -- message "virus definitions could not be loaded"
I am using Norton 2002 system works with windows ME os.
I then tried to do a one button check up and it show 1 error on virus definitions. So I did a live update. It said that all my programs and definitions were currrent. Reran one button and still got 1 error on virus definitions.
I have input all of this to Norton support and they responded saying they will email me within three days.

Only problem is that I can't receive any emails with the scan turned on since it will not load, So I had to turn Norton off.

Any suggestions before I get infected and/or infest the world. I am not openning any emails with attachments or ones I am not expecting.
