Re: Does this foretell the demise of tokens?????

This is bumming me out. I noticed last June when in LV that The Orleans was going to tickets in their machines. Paper money in and vouchers out. Many of their quarter and nickle machines were not using coin. A couple of friends were out in LV in December and when they came back said it was now worse. More places were doing away with coin. I assume it is a matter of time in LV before it spreads to the $1 tokens and up as well.

I guess my next trip, if any casinos are still using tokens, I will have to start snarfing them up. Might have to put my chips aside for a while.

Incidentally I was at Hollywood Casino in Aurora, IL last weekend. They had some nice $5 and $1 tokens. Nothing too elaborate but they were new looking, bright, clean and attractive. I picked a couple up along with quarter tokens from Harrahs, Par A Dice and Discovery Cruises which came out in payouts. I also got a few Hollywood Quarters. All the quarter tokens seemed very worn but the $1 and $5 tokens were in great shape. Will put up a picture as soon as I can if anyone is interested.
