As a general rule, current $1.00 chips have a $2.00 value and current $5.00 chips have a $7.00 value. It doesn't matter to most of us if it is LE or a table chip. Of course, some put a higher value to these, but as a general rule, this is it.

Now then, If one trades you (5) $1.00 chips for (1) $5.00 chip, you are receiving $10.00 worth of chips at resale for $7.00. [five $1.00 chips valued at $2.00 each = $10.00 for one $5.00 chip worth $7.00.]

Of course if one only trades, then this does not make any difference at all.

But also consider the fact that the person receiving the 5 $1.00 chips are getting chips from 5 different casinos. This becomes a factor if the person had to go to the five different casinos himself as opposed to just getting
them through a trade from someone else.

To many of us, this doesn't matter, But to others it does.
