Wisconsin. Which by the way, has tribes here negotiating for operating a casino on the East Coast, with big investor backing.

Auditors found that the state had done no compliance audits at the three Ho-Chunk casinos and that it's been almost five years since a compliance audit was done at the Forest County Potawatomi Bingo Casino in Milwaukee.

Regulators with the state Division of Gaming must accept responsibility, but some of the blame for the laxness in regulation rests squarely with the tribes. Several of them have resisted state efforts to connect electronic monitoring equipment to their slot machines. That's unacceptable; the electronic monitoring is required in many of the compacts, and the tribes have a legal and a public obligation to live up to their agreements. The electronic monitoring - which reveals, among other things, the total income and payout of each machine - was intended to protect the interests of everyone, including customers. But if the state believes the tribes are not meeting the terms of the compacts, then it is obligated to take its case to federal court.

Doyle suggested he might consider expanding the kinds of games that could be offered at casinos when new compacts are negotiated. We generally have opposed more slot machines and new casino games such as roulette and craps because we believe they would constitute an expansion of gambling. But from a practical standpoint, we also realize that in this political and economic climate, the state might very well have to agree to additional slots and games to get what it should have - a bigger share of casino receipts and more control over casino operations.

The last part hints that as part of the new agreements, we might see Roulette in Wisconsin.
The Gov. has been reported elsewhere as saying Gambling is Gambling, it's a little silly to say Blackjack is OK and Roulette is not.

I suppose this means I'll have to sharpen my pocket and run skills. lol grin
