Even the colors from one computer to another vary. Batches of plastic can vary, so the two chips, if they aren't identical casinos and dates of Mfg. can have color variations, without being faded.

But I agree, it's possible to have a washed/faded chip, look like a different color, side by side.

Until the two chips are side by side, in the same place, there's no way to tell.
