Art Anderson's Casino Ashtray book has a pretty good history of the clubs but it is not organized in any linear way. George's Gateway opened in South Lake Tahoe in 1949 and was bought out by Bill Harrah in 1955. Bill Harrah was eventually bought out by the Holiday Inn Corperation.
