I also clean my chips for my collection and apply mineral oil if needed. I used to do this for traders also, but have stopped doing that because of the time involved. Cleaning of chips is not repairing chips in my book.

I am against repairing chips and trading them or selling them as pristine condition. I would suggest that repaired chips should be classified as "restored chips".

That's my 2 cents worth on this issue.
