Re: Older Golden Gate Chips on Tables

Barry:

This remindes me, I was going to post this message as soon as I got home from the convention, but I totally forgot until I saw your post.

Last June at the convention, I was downtown with my step-dad and we stopped in at the Golden Gate. As usual, we hit the cage and asked for any clean chips. The older lady at the cage went through a whole bunch of chips, and came up with a few nice $1.00, $5.00 and even a $25.00. I thanked her and gave her a $3.00 tip. As I was walking away she said "Hey, do you like "old" casino chips?" She must have been a little frightened when I whipped back around and said "What did you just say?" She again said, "We have some of these "old" $25.00 chips from the 70's here that we have never put out on the tables". She took out a handful of the Paulson Metal inlay $25.00 chips. So I bought two, my step-father bought two, and I'm sure anyone else that asked nicely to the little old lady that works the cage by the craps pit on Wednesday nights could also get one of the these sweet looking chips for just $25.00! (plus tip of course) :-)
