Great Canadian Casinos chips.....

While heading for my great Alaskan cruise, I stopped in Vancouver for a few days. I was surprised to find not only one casino, but in fact about six in the local area. I could only make it two of them and it was quite interesting.

No flashing lights, no fanfare, no loud noises, just a bunch of blackjack, roulette (none harvested), and Caribbean Poker tables, with plenty of players.

Very austere.

Chips were only available from the tables, but everyone was more than helpful. At one table the dealer stopped play to fishout a chip for me from the rack!

Scanned below are the chips I was able to get and I only have traders of the $1 chips. The Year of the Horse chips came in two versions (for the same year ('02)), so depicted below is two different chips. Only one establishment had the Year of the Horse chips and only used the $5 chip with the six brown inserts. The other place I visited used the other $5 chip, but both versions of the $1 chip were in-play at both locations.

Interestingly, one of the places had an electronic SIC-BO machine. It was not in-use, and it required a dealer to supervise the bets.
