John, this isn't exactly an answer to your question, but:
(1) this is my first ivory purchase in years, it seems; and
(2) it is very sad, but all --and I mean all-- of the flea markets and antique shows I used to enjoy going to do not seem to be worth the effort anymore. I am finding nothing. I think eBay is the main reason for this. The pickers who used to scrounge house sales, etc., and then sell the stuff to flea market dealers, etc., are selling the stuff themselves on eBay, as are the dealers. Even before eBay became popular, I noticed the the general unavailabilty of good chips and gambling items at the shows. I blame eBay mostly for this trend. Everyone is complaining, at the shows anyway.
