Re: Rolling Stones To Play At Hard Rock

Then as a marketing policy maybe the cashiers should be instructed to be informative, a little more helpful and tell a collector that there are chips out there at the tables. Had I been told that I might have continued to play a little more. Further, not to bash Warwick or anything but I was just responding to the, appearent, feeling that there were quantities that could not be sold. At least that is how it sounded and how I read it.

While I have expressed my feeling that, for the casinos, I think it is good to put such chips on the tables to encourage play, I think if there is a feeling that they are surplus and aren't moving as hoped that maybe they might put them at the cage with some sort of promotion or indication that they are there. I noticed last time I was at Harrah's that they had a display case with all the available LE and Collectable chips along with an indication that they could be picked up at the cashier. They did have a label on the ones that were sold out. I think there was somplace else, on my last trip, that did that but I can't remember where.

Maybe it just comes down to the issue that has been expressed before, that some cage people are more helpful, having a better day, are more friendly or just in a better mood than others. By contrast to the HR teller who just seemed quick to say none and was not very helpful, I remember one teller at Luxor once that actually went as far as suggestive selling a set of $1 tokens. A friend of mine wanted a token to take home for his son and one for his daughter. The teller told him that the chips were available in several designs and suggested that he might want to get a whole set. She actually went through her rack and picked some nice ones to display and show us all the designs. The ones we got, in fact were almost unused. My friend bought the whole set, and so did I. I suppose you can come accross a range of personalities. Maybe I should have just left and gone back to another cashier later. It just dissappoints me that a chip that I have actually considered buying may have been there all along for me to actually get at face. Lesson Learned I guess.

If I get back there again, instead of tossing a couple $20s, I should probably buy in for $100 in $5s and go through that. Then, after picking through the stacks, I could play my customary $40 or $60 bucks and cash out the rest. I did buy in twice for $40 each time on that visit and found a couple Rock N Horses, which I already had and didn't need more, and the rest were all Black Crows which I took 2 of. I didn't have much luck and didn't generate much of a stack of chips like I had hoped. Not seeing anything but the Horses and the Crows I gave up at the table and that is when I went to the cage. I guess I just figured that was all that was out there.
