Re: Old Bally $5 and $1 Slot Tokens

The value of the tokens is based mainly on condition! Most token collectors follow some of the same guidelines as coin collectors. The difference in value from poor to mint conditions can be many times in value.

Newer tokens will sell for face value of less while older (1965 – 1984) tokens will sell for more. There are exceptions to the rule (Hard Rock Event Tokens, Hologram tokens, and limited tokens)

I have seen newer obsolete tokens sell for half face value (or less). One example, I saw a lot of 110 $1 dollar current tokens sell for on Ebay for $64! (If you took them back to the casino, you would have received $110 for them).

Unfortunately there are fewer token collectors than there are chip collectors. I only know of 150 – 200 token collectors (What I mean by real token collectors is someone who has 1000+ tokens in their collection).

I hope this helps.
