Couldn't these be salesman samples? Chips that were made to show the clients what colors could be made, & inlay styles etc.? It is odd that large casino names were used but perhaps they wanted the customer to know that they make chips for big casino's in Las Vegas.
This is what I think. Other companies made samples of all types. Many were just stamped on one side or odd initials on back, etc. Just because now we finally see some TR King pieces it is not right to say they are fakes! Just saying things like this to new collectors can scare them away. These are probably legitimate chips made at TR King many years ago. Wasn't it mentioned about an estate find?

There are 2 other Golden Nugget hot stamped colors. I now do not think they are actual chips used in a casino after seeing all these. In Doug Saito's auction of the Hank Boss collection he had a blue & yellow $5. It had some odd reddish stain in the crowns. My guess was it was on a display board. A clue to a sample. 2 are known of this one chip. "NO issue date recorded" is how Doug describes this.

I would like to hear your input- collectors.
