I started this past week working in the race and sports book at the MGM Grand again.
I'll be working 3 or 4 days a week until the end of March Madness.
This weekend, we have a full house, over 5000 rooms. Many of those rooms are taken by people from Wisconsin, because Wisconsin played UNLV this evening in college football.
We had a lot of sports bets from the wisconsin folks needless to say.
The game tonight was called because of a blackout at the Silver Bowl. The score was 27 to 7 Wisconsin with 7 minutes and change left to play. The spread was anywhere from 3 to 6-1/2 points.
The Nevada gaming control board states that a game must go at least 55 minutes to be official in the eyes of gaming.
The MGM, did not pay off on winning tickets, but refunded the original bet instead. The race and sports book was not a fun place to work this evening. I had one guest from Wisconsin tell me that I should look for another job, because he would have the casino shut down by morning. All this for his $50. bet.
