Re: HR Release Problem
In Response To: HR Release Problem ()

OK- I have the following observations to offer.

1 THe night I interviewd MOBY (8/21) I played at the tables and won some chips (wrote about it here). OOne thing I didn't mention that nigt is that when I jokingly asked the lady at the cage if there were new chips she said "check tomorrow, maybe Moby chips." I thought it was funny. I've since learned that those chips were already in the cage, and she was right. Problem was, Moby never approved them.

A chip like Moby, as I understand, will usually be in the cage a week or so early to be approved by "Gaming," who insist that they view new issues before release. Once approved, they can be sold. From what i understand, Moby chips had been approved (by "gaming") the night that woman told me to check tomorrow. Hard Rock just hadn't worked out the deal with Moby. So the chip was delayed because of contracts.

Contrast to the Barris chips. THese were approved by "gaming" in 1997. They merely needed to be delivered. Warwick got cocky and assumed they'd be there on time. Paul-Son got sKrewed, and Warwick looked bad.

See the difference? Anyone?

Al
