The Sportsworld Casino closed in the May/June 2001 timeframe and then there was an auction on July 21, 2001. I was at the auction, which was also attended by the owner. I wrote a story for the Club magazine (CCTN) and it appeared in the Winter Issue, 2002.

The owner had intended to completely re-vamp the entire place and had an auction to finance the project. I asked about the chips and tokens and the owner told me that he had all the chips, all the tokens, even the older "CBS" stuff. As there was no redemption, the chips are still "active" in the eyes of Gaming (yes, they were called, but not by me).

This makes a good exception note for the "obsolete" discussion.

Last time I saw the place (two weeks ago) it was unchanged from after the auction. The BBQ is new to me, or maybe thats the new theme.
