Re: Legal question for WArwick or Gene

Hi Al,

When our daughter was born a little over four years ago I wanted to find out the answer to this very question. Being a "professional chipper" and "Mr. Mom" this is something that I needed to know. I have a friend who was a Gaming Control agent and he found the answer to this dilimma for me. Bottom line: There is NO specific Nevada gaming law that prohibits an adult from making ANY transaction at the cage with a minor in tow . However each casino may have have their own in-house rules that do not allow it.

I've had no problems at the Fiesta, Four Queens, Las Vegas Club, Excalibur, Circus-Circus, Tropicana and Hard Rock having Alexi with me when I bought chips. In fact the Four Queens cashiers would get upset with me if I DIDN'T have her with me. I remember once at the Fiesta they had a "one-per-person" limit on their very limited employee chip. I mentioned to the cashier that Alexi was a "person" (albeit a very tiny one)... she shrugged her shoulders and sold me a second chip.

I have had problems at the Venetian and especially the Ramada Express down in Laughlin. A security guard came unglued on me at the Ramada. When I politely told this "wanna' be cop" that there were no Nevada regulations that prohibited them selling me chips while Alexi was with me, he threatened to take me to the "back room"....
