In Response To: THE ALADDIN STORY ()

I do agree with some of the mistakes made analysis, foremost being access from Las Vegas Blvd via car or foot traffic, compounded by the long journey from the parking garage when you take the trouble to find it to park your car.

Things they did right in my opinion...

Hotel check-in is on a different floor than the casino. You don't have to haul your stuff through the casino to find the registration counter. I know some execs think that forcing people through the casino to check into their room is advantageous, but it isn't. I hate hauling my luggage between rows of slots to get to the counter, then do it again to get to the elevators.

Hotel room location in relation to an elevator. Every room is within seven (hotel room) doors from an elevator. The longest haul I ever had from the elevator to my room in a Vegas casino was at The Orleans at the last convention held there....I cover quarter-mile racing for a living, don't want to haul my stuff that far to a room. grin

Location of the London Club. Very comfortable, not the typical "fishbowl" setup that you'll find at most casinos for a high roller area. I'd rather see it like the London Club, or like the French roulette table at the Paris Las Vegas than set up in a fishbowl-glassed-off-room next to the gaming floor. Having a "high-roller" table right on the regular casino floor can entice a low roller to give it a shot, especially if the game is slightly different (better) in odds and payouts.
