For instance, they talk about the good old days of the mid nineties, "This was before the era of the CTR - the cash transaction report - which obligates the casinos to report any transaction greater than $10,000."

Title 3 of the Bank Secrecy Act was expanded to include casinos in May of 1985. Of course, Nevada fought it for months before agreeing to Regulation 6A, which is what governs cash transactions in Nevada casino today.

I went to my first (of many) class on Reg 6A compliance in either late '87 or early '88. It was firmly in place by the time these kids hit town.

I remember about 18 years ago I read "Loaded Dice" by John Soares. I thought it was great, then I met someone that knew him well and stated that the book was complete fiction. Maybe he was just jeaolous of Soares' notoriety, I don't know.

Either way, I loved the article. I look forward to the book. Thanks!
