I've had the pleasure of meeting with Bob Gabel couple times this week in Tunica. Late yesterday afternoon we went to the site where Splash, Bally's, Lady Luck, and President used to be to look for the old Cotton Club boat that is supposed to be there. The area is blocked off so we took a gravel road, to another gravel road, to a DIRT road in my very tough 4x4 Mazda 626. After 1/2 to 1 mile of dirt road we came to a un-chained part where we can get in to look around. Sure enough there was the Cotton Club boat in the old Bally's pavilion. Rustic to say the least. In my lifetime I can't see the boat opening. I would have to guess it's going to take at least 30 million to get it up and running. The entire parking lot would have to be re-paved, a mile or more of roadway leading to the casino, and the R.V. park. We tried to look inside through the front doors and it was about as rough inside as it is out. So much for new Tunica chips!
