There is no airport in Tunica but you can use the one in Memphis. From the Midwest it is very cheap to fly to the Biloxi area and Memphis is a Northwest Air hub. While all of the properties in Tunica are "new" I would recommend the Grand as the best hotel when inexpensive rates are available. Hollywood is also good and Ballys is REALLY cheap (you get what you pay for). At this point I don't think I will be able to attend but situations change.
