I don't know if other cities are involved but I just booked a flight to Las Vegas from Nashville for $161 including all taxes on Southwest. It was 1/2 the rate the other airlines were getting and my daughter is bringing a few friends to help party and they wanted a cheap rate. Now comes the big question. We are coming in on the weekend of Oct. 12 and apparently there is a car race that weekend. Is this race a big deal? It seems like a lot of the hotels already have high rates for that time period (like $179 per night at Excaliber!)
