Extra! Hard Rock FL apply for Class III status Extra!

From Casino Player Magazine:

("Hard Rock Cafe International announced that the financing was complete for the two new Hard Rock Hotel and Casino resorts, to be developed on Seminole Indian Nation reservation land in Tampa and Hollywood Florida. Funding by the issuance of bonds, the 400 million project will replace the Seminoles existing gaming facilities. The new properties are being developed through a licensing agreement between Hard Rock Cafe International, the Seminole Indian Tribe of Florida, and The Cordish Company.

The Tampa property will feature 90,000 square feet of gaming space with 1,500 slot machines and 50 gaming tables, a 250 room hotel, and 10 restaurants. The Hollywood resort will feature 115,000 square feet of gaming space with 2,000 slot machines and 65 gaming tables, a 750 room hotel, a live music venue, and 12 restaurants to include a Hard Rock retail store.

Currently, the Seminole casinos are only allowed to offer "Class II gaming" such as lottery slot machines, bingo, and low stakes poker. They hope to offer Vegas-style Class III gaming-which includes blackjack and roulette-in the future. Though multiple effots to win Class III status have failed in the past, with Governor Jeb Bush among the opposition, the Seminoles hope that new rules from the US Department of Interior will permit Class III games anywhere on reservation lands.)

I can only hope! vbg
